School Group Tours and Remote Visit Opportunities

Request a Visit

Our volunteers will be thrilled to visit your classes remotely. The museum is temporarily closed to the public so we are not able to offer guided tours of the museum at this time.

Please fill out the request form below and we will be in touch with you to finalize the details of the remote visit!

Volunteers are available to remotely visit a limited number of classrooms.  Our volunteers, most of whom are retired military pilots or aircrew, have expertise in aviation, physics, space, U.S. history, and military service. The Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum is temporarily closed to the public so we are not able to offer guided tours of the museum at this time.

Please fill out the form below if you would like to set up a time for one of our volunteers to join a remote session in your classroom. If you have any questions, please contact us at education@flyingleathernecks.org or call 858-693-1723.

"I teach at an online school and each year I host a field trip here. The docents are awesome. They have so many stories and knowledge to share with the students. Each plane is unique and we even got to go inside one of the helicopters. As a history teacher, this is a perfect field trip for all ages. Inside, there is a museum to meander through. It's free too!"

"Marine Corps aviation history, the artifacts on display at the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum and most importantly, the volunteers, greatly enhance our efforts to promote character traits including integrity, courage, perseverance and patriotism in schools and in the community."

“The field trip to the museum was an amazing experience for my students. They were able to have a clear look at how values like responsibility, honor, respect, perseverance, and a strong work ethic translated into lifelong success."
