Hamza Suria joined the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation’s Board of Directors in 2022 and serves as Chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. Hamza is a former biotech CEO responsible for the discovery and development of multiple novel medicines for treatment of life-threatening cancer and inflammatory diseases. In addition to his background immunology, Hamza has extensive experience in organizational development, public and private equity finance transactions, strategic corporate partnerships and Board governance. Most recently, Hamza was President & CEO of AnaptysBio, a NASDAQ-listed public biotech company responsible for advancing eight therapeutic antibodies from concept to human patients. Hamza holds a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Kalamazoo College, a Master’s degree in immunology from the University of Western Ontario, an executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and is a graduate of The Mercersburg Academy. Hamza enjoys learning about military history and is an amateur military aviation photographer.
