Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum

Volunteer

The Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation (FLHF) provides volunteers to support the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving the historic achievements of the men and women who flew and maintained U. S. Marine Corps aircraft.

As we expand and grow, our need for volunteers to tell our story to visitors, volunteer in our Museum Store and assist in the restoration of our historic aircraft grows as well. As a Volunteer, YOU select the number of hours a day, as well as, the days of the week YOU can be available to serve. Obviously, we can’t promise that you’ll be paid in dollars, but we can promise that after every day you volunteer, you’ll be paid by knowing you’ve done something worthwhile and met and worked with some wonderful patriots.

We seek volunteers in these following areas:

  • DOCENT No prior experience is required. We will train you and pair you with an experienced docent until you are comfortable with your skills. Age 16+ andwe provide acknowledgment letters for Community Service for school, or other institutions.
  • Museum Store Again, no prior experience is required, but some level of comfort in the use of computers is certainly a plus. (Age 18+ only)
  • RESTORATION We restore our historic aircraft to museum quality. This is a labor-intensive task. Because the aircraft in the museum inventory cannot be replaced, a familiarity with the restoration process is highly desirable.
